04 Aug Getting Used To Spanish Culture
Getting used to the Spanish culture took a few weeks to get used to. I went through a big culture shock when I arrived. One of the things that impressed me the most was the public transportation. For the most part everyone takes the metro, train or a bus. That was the first thing that stuck out to me. I’m used to driving everywhere and sitting in traffic for hours. It definitely saves a lot of time travelling. The buildings and architecture have been my favorite part of this experience. Everywhere you go there is some historical monument and I really enjoy that.
I love how much history is in every building or town. For our weekend trip we went to Barcelona and it was amazing. It was exactly how I imagined Spain to be when I was coming here. Madrid is more city-like so it was really cool to see. The thing that’s so cool is that you can go one stop on a train and end up in an entirely different neighborhood and every one of them is unique. Every day is a new adventure in this city!
