Every year, a mind-blowing number of tourists come to Paris to experience the city’s iconic artistry and culture. (The Louvre alone attracted over nine million visitors in 2025!) That figure includes @Elisa Malacarne, an Arts Management student from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy, who also chose the dreamy capital of France for her Creative Arts internship abroad last spring.
It was the perfect decision, too, as her Paris internship gave her invaluable hands-on experience and the most unforgettable memories in what turned out to be one of the best environments for an arts student.
An internship with a renowned artist
Elisa’s internship was with @Veronica Marucci Chapeaux, a couturier who makes elegant handcrafted hats that have been featured in prominent fashion magazines like Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vogue. Imagine working in a studio filled with gorgeous headpieces that have been worn by the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga. That was Elisa’s internship!
She also had the opportunity to work directly with Veronica, learning from the designer herself how to communicate one’s artistry. Specifically, Elisa worked on the following tasks:
- Boosting the brand’s visibility and relevance
- Assisting in event management
Through these experiences, she was able to apply classroom learning to real-world scenarios. She also gained exposure to the inner workings of the couture industry, which was a whole new niche that her internship allowed her to explore.

Exploring a new industry through an internship
Prior to her internship abroad, Elisa’s interest in the arts had mostly revolved around theater, music,

and cultural heritage. But in the spring of 2025, she was able to broaden her horizons by seeking international education in Paris and diving into the unfamiliar industry of fashion.
One of the perks of short internships is their “shortness,” which allows students to try out different fields in just a few weeks. This lets them see the reality of working in a certain industry, discover what they like and what they don’t, all while building skills that can be valuable regardless of where they end up. For Elisa, those skills were organization and accountability (and French!).
A top destination for an art internship
The architecture, the galleries, the cathedrals, and even the interiors of local patisseries, art is all over Paris. For creative students like Elisa, this means inspiration can be found in every corner. And this is exactly what makes the City of Light a great destination for an arts internship.
Elisa said the highlight of her program was “the chance to visit every corner of the beautiful city of Paris and go on many day trips around France.”
While Elisa immersed herself in haute couture on the weekdays, she toured remarkable museums, lush gardens, and other historical French spots over the weekends. That included the grandiose Palace of Versailles, a World Heritage site and one of the greatest achievements in French art, and Claude Monet’s House and Gardens in the charming village of Giverny.
Seeing Paris from the eyes of an international art student
Throughout her internship abroad program, Elisa was also an Absolute Creator. This meant she created content for Absolute Internship, in hopes of encouraging her peers to take on a career- and life-changing opportunity just as she had.
It wasn’t all eye-catching photos and head-turning videos, though; it was more than an opportunity to showcase her creative eye and flair. As an Absolute Creator, Elisa converted her experiences into stories that appealed to her audience and developed even more skills outside her internship.
“This collaboration was a truly enriching experience. By posting about Parisian landmarks, dreamy museums, and charming day trips, I gained valuable insights into the inner workings of social media and digital engagement,” she shared.
