Start your mornings cycling to work, collaborate with professionals in your chosen industry, and spend your evenings exploring colourful waterfronts, historic neighbourhoods, cobblestone streets, and vibrant cafés. It’s the kind of experience that goes far beyond what you can learn in a classroom. That’s what a Copenhagen internship can look like.
Every year, students from around the world choose Copenhagen internships to gain international work experience and broaden their perspective. Whether you’re looking for a Copenhagen summer internship or a longer internship in Denmark, you’ll return home with practical experience, professional connections, and a résumé that stands out.
With Absolute Internship, you’ll secure a guaranteed placement in your chosen industry while we take care of everything else—from student accommodation and local transportation to career development workshops and dedicated on-the-ground support. All you have to do is focus on making the most of the opportunity.
Moving to another country can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’ve designed an all-inclusive program that lets you focus on your internship, not the planning.
Finding an internship abroad on your own can be time-consuming and unpredictable. We take a different approach.
Before your placement is confirmed, we’ll get to know your academic background, career interests, and professional goals. Our team then matches you with one of our partner companies, giving you an internship aligned with where you want your career to go.
Whether your interests lie in business, technology, marketing, sustainability, healthcare, engineering, or the creative industries, we’ll match you with an organisation where you can build practical experience aligned with your goals.
Instead of simply observing from the sidelines, you’ll work on real projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and build practical skills that employers value.
A degree opens doors, but practical experience helps you stand out. Employers increasingly look for graduates who can adapt to new environments, communicate across cultures, and solve problems independently. Living and working abroad demonstrates all of those qualities while giving you experience that’s difficult to gain in a classroom.
During your internship, you’ll become part of an international community of ambitious students representing more than 50 nationalities. Those relationships often continue long after the program ends through our global alumni network of 12,000+ former interns.
Choose your field and discover how an international internship can support your career goals.

Moving to a new country is exciting, but finding accommodation shouldn’t be another thing to worry about. That’s why your housing is arranged before you arrive.
You’ll stay in a modern student residence with fellow Absolute Internship participants, giving you the chance to build friendships from the moment you move in. With easy access to Copenhagen’s extensive public transport network, getting to your internship and exploring the city is simple.
Sharing your experience with another intern also means you’ll have someone to navigate the city with, discover local cafés, and make the most of your time in Denmark. Instead of spending weeks searching for accommodation or dealing with rental contracts, you can arrive knowing everything is ready for you.

An internship abroad isn’t just about what happens at work. It’s also about the places you’ll discover, the people you’ll meet, and the memories you’ll take home.
Throughout the program, our Denmark internship program combines professional experience with opportunities to explore Copenhagen and neighbouring Scandinavian destinations. You’ll have opportunities to explore Copenhagen’s culture, history, and nearby Scandinavian destinations with fellow interns from around the world. Whether it’s after work, on weekends, or during organised excursions, you’ll experience far more than the average visitor.
No visit to Copenhagen feels complete without spending time in Nyhavn. Its colourful 17th-century buildings, waterfront cafés, and historic wooden ships have become symbols of the city. It’s the kind of place where interns often gather after work to enjoy dinner by the harbour or simply watch the boats drift past.
Located in the heart of the city, Tivoli Gardens has welcomed visitors since 1843 and remains one of Copenhagen’s most loved attractions. Part amusement park, part cultural venue, and part botanical garden, Tivoli offers everything from thrilling rides and live performances to beautifully landscaped gardens and world-class restaurants.
One of Copenhagen’s biggest advantages is how easily you can explore another country. Cross the impressive Øresund Bridge by train, and in around 35 minutes you’ll arrive in Malmö, Sweden. Spend the day wandering through the charming streets of Gamla Staden, visiting the striking Turning Torso skyscraper, browsing local markets, or enjoying a traditional Swedish fika before heading back to Copenhagen in time for dinner.
Every Copenhagen summer internship includes professional development workshops designed to help you maximise the value of your international experience.
Our Career Development Workshops are a defining feature of every Copenhagen internship program; designed to ensure your international work experience translates directly into career results.
Before you even board your flight, we introduce you to Copenhagen’s unique business culture, workplace etiquette, and day-to-day lifestyle in Denmark. This essential session builds the cross-cultural communication skills you need to hit the ground running from day one of your internship abroad.
Held at the beginning and end of your program, these onsite workshops are central to your professional growth as an international intern. You will learn how recruiters think, evaluate the skills you’ve gained, and discover how to strategically market your global internship on your CV, LinkedIn profile, and in job interviews, giving you a measurable edge when you return home.
Beyond the workshops, we connect you to Copenhagen’s local business ecosystem. Thanks to our strong partnerships with major Chambers of Commerce and industry organisations in Denmark, we regularly inform participants about exclusive networking events where you can connect with global industry leaders face to face.
Our multilingual, on-site team is available 24/7 to ensure your time abroad in Copenhagen is safe, secure, and exceptional. Acting as your local program guides, our staff lead all group excursions and provide continuous mentorship, so you thrive both socially and professionally throughout your international internship.
We meet you and your cohort at the airport and accompany you directly to your student housing in Copenhagen.
On day one, you receive a local transportation card, an essential city guide, and all program resources.
On your first evening, we host an official welcome dinner so you can connect with fellow interns and the support team.
Living overseas can feel unfamiliar at first, but you won’t be figuring things out by yourself.
Our local staff regularly check in with participants throughout the program, offering guidance, answering questions, and making sure everything is going smoothly.
Whether it’s advice about your internship, recommendations for exploring Copenhagen, or support with an unexpected situation, we’re here whenever you need us.
That ongoing support gives both students and their families peace of mind, allowing you to focus on making the most of your Copenhagen summer internship.
We’ll help you navigate the travel requirements so you can focus on preparing for your internship, not the paperwork.
Whether you’re travelling from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, or another country, our team will guide you through the process and let you know exactly what documents you’ll need before departure.
If you have questions at any stage, we’re only an email or call away.

Getting an internship in Copenhagen on your own can be competitive, especially if you’re applying from abroad. Many companies prefer candidates with local connections or experience navigating the Danish job market.
With Absolute Internship, the process is much simpler. After you apply, our team learns about your academic background, career interests, and professional goals. We then match you with a host company in your chosen industry, ensuring you have a guaranteed internship placement before you arrive in Denmark.
From application support to interview preparation and pre-departure guidance, we’ll help you every step of the way, so you can focus on making the most of your international experience.
It depends on the employer and the industry.
Some companies in Copenhagen offer paid internships, while others provide unpaid placements that focus on professional development and hands-on learning. Compensation policies vary based on the organisation, the duration of the internship, and Danish employment regulations.
At Absolute Internship, our priority is finding a placement that aligns with your academic background and career goals. Regardless of whether an internship is paid, every participant benefits from valuable industry experience, career development workshops, networking opportunities, and comprehensive on-the-ground support throughout the program.
If you’re travelling to Denmark from a visa-exempt country, you may need an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) approval once the system becomes operational.
ETIAS is expected to apply to travellers from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and several others visiting the Schengen Area for short stays.
If your nationality requires a Schengen visa instead, you’ll need to obtain a visa before travelling.
Don’t worry, our team will explain the requirements based on your nationality and guide you through the application process well before your internship begins.
Please note: ETIAS is not yet in operation. We’ll provide participants with the latest travel guidance before departure.
