(European Travel Information and Authorisation System) approval before entering the Schengen Area, including Denmark.
The application is completed online and:
- Usually takes only a few minutes to submit
- May take up to 30 days to process
- Remains valid for up to three years, or until your passport expires
If you’re travelling from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Mexico, or Hong Kong, you’ll need an approved ETIAS before travelling once the system becomes operational.

If you’re travelling to Denmark from a visa-exempt country, you may need an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) approval once the system becomes operational.
ETIAS is expected to apply to travellers from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and several others visiting the Schengen Area for short stays.
If your nationality requires a Schengen visa instead, you’ll need to obtain a visa before travelling.
