Events in Barcelona

The Barcelona Internship Program provides exciting weekend events in order for you to make the most out of your time living in Spain. Although you will be working during the day, these events aim to give you full advantage of what the city has to offer. Even though your internship is the most important, it’s essential that you take advantage of living abroad.

Guided Tour of the City

Get to know your new city – Barcelona! The city tour takes you around the old town, Gothic and Born, where the city was founded million of years ago. It is a great way for you to explore your city and get to know the many charming districts of Barcelona.

Day Trips

While in the program, you will have the chance to explore other cities and villages nearby. In the past, trips have included places such as the mediaval city of Girona, futuristic Valencia, the scenic mountain of Montserrat, and many other places along the beautiful coast of Costa Brava. You will have the chance to immerse yourself in the Spanish culture and explore its beauty and its historical landmarks.

Cultural Visits

As part of the program you have the opportunity to explore Barcelona’s finest architecture, museums and art scene. Landmarks can include Sagrada Familia, El Parc Guell, El Museo Picasso, Casa Milà, and much more.

After Work Activities

To immerse yourself in the Catalan culture there are so many fun activities that you can join in your free time. Learn the local cuisine with tapas workshops and cooking classes, sign up for wine tasting and try different types of delicious grape varieties, go see a traditonal flamenco show, or spend a relaxing day at the beach. The possibilities are endless!

Unsponsored Events

We want to help you build friendships and get acquainted with your new city. To help you, our Absolute staff will be planning unsponsored events for the entire group every week. These events are voluntary, but we recommend that you attend these as they will make sure that you will get to know your new city and the other interns on the program.
