23 Sep Will the real Mr. Panda please stand up?
Sooooo…..where do I begin? First off, my name is Absolute Panda, but all my friends call me A.P. for short. I was born and raised in Sichuan province, which is located in Southwest China, and home to the most beautiful sights and the BEST cuisine in China…no matter what those people in Hunan province tell you (don’t listen to them). During my high school years, I decided to do a study abroad program, which sent me to London for a semester at one of the best high schools in the United Kingdom. This experience totally CHANGED my life for the better, as it opened up my panda eyes to so many unique individuals, cultures and ideas!
During my time in London, I took weekend trips to some of the most popular cities in Europe, including Paris, Madrid, Berlin and Rome! After seeing the Coliseum and Eiffel Tower, how could my life ever be the same?! When I got back to Sichuan, all I could think about was how I could continue to build upon this amazing experience. After searching online, I found a job posting as an office intern at Absolute Internship in Shanghai. Being the curious panda that I am, I went online to do more research about this and came to the conclusion that this is where I needed to be. To my surprise, my cover letter and resume impressed them so much…that they called me the next day and offered me the position! A few days later, I was on my way to Shanghai – flying first class!
As I write this blog post (my first, but definitely not my last!), I am sitting in the Absolute office located in the heart of beautiful Shanghai. Now….enough about my job, and more about myself. Some of my hobbies include climbing trees, eating, sleeping, football, rugby, eating and sleeping….did I mention eating and sleeping? So what do pandas eat? Bamboo, of course. Wrong. Unfortunately, I was born allergic to bamboo….so I’ve had to settle for a healthy diet of Chinese cuisine, pasta, and of course…McDonalds! I am also a huge music buff. Some of my favorite artists at the moment include Pitbull, One Direction, Bruno Mars and Maroon 5. Some of the TV shows I’ve been watching lately are Suits, House of Cards and Game of Thrones (don’t talk to me about it…). I’m also OBSESSED with two movies as well, Kung-Fu Panda and Kung-Fu Panda 2! If you haven’t gotten the chance, watch them – instant classics! During my off-time I also like playing PS3, which includes two of the best games known to mankind….and pandakind – FIFA and Call of Duty! When I’m not busy beating everybody with Barcelona, I’m usually learning new languages. I currently speak Chinese, Cantonese, English and Panglish – but am learning Spanish and French as well! J’ai faim (I’m hungry)….how is that?!
Now…I don’t want to reveal too much about myself in this blog post, as it will take the fun out of getting to know me. I hope you enjoy reading this blog, as much as I enjoy writing it!
