Public transportation is without doubt the most common way to navigate and get around Stockholm. The public transportation system in Sweden is very efficient and follows strict schedules. When living in Stockholm for the summer, you can expect to use public transport, especially the subway (tunnelbana), on a daily basis to commute to your internship. The subway operates generally between approximately 5:00 am to 1;00am, so travel in the early morning hours may involve night buses and/or taxis.
You will receive a SL Access-kort upon arrival which allows you to take advantage of the public transportation system with unlimited rides with the subway, buses, tramways and ferries in Stockholm.
Stockholm is a safe and exciting city, and we’ll be with you every step of the way as you explore it. Our International Internship Program Program in Stockholm is run by a dedicated and knowledgeable team of Absolute staff ensuring your safety at all time.
All cultural excursions and weekend activities in Sweden have been coordinated with student safety as our top priority. Upon arrival, you’ll have an orientation to familiarize yourself with the housing facilities, neighborhood and public transport. You’ll also be provided with key contact information along with guidance on health-, emergency procedures and staying safe throughout your summer in Sweden.
