The Lisbon Internship Program provides exciting weekend events in order for you to make the most out of your time living in Portugal. Although you will be working during the day, our Lisbon events aim to give you full advantage of what the city has to offer. Even though your internship is the most important, it’s essential that you take advantage of living abroad.

Guided Tour of the City
This is an opportunity to get to know your new city, Lisbon, and explore the quirky neighborhoods and beautiful landmarks that this city has to offer! Lisbon is definitely one of the most culturally rich cities in the world, so make sure to bring your camera, as we’ll introduce you this stunning city. This is truly a great opportunity to check out the must-sees and spend some time with the other Absolute students!
Sintra
Sintra is a picturesque Portuguese town, that seems to be out of a fairy tale book, set amidst the pine-covered hills of the Serra de Sintra Natural Park. Being very close to Lisbon, you will have a chance to explore this town, that is considered the most western point of Europe. Let yourself be amazed by the castles and palaces up in the clouds, while exploring the enchanting forests and breathtaking sight seeing spots set around the town. Sintra is one of the most magical and mysterious places in the world, that you don’t want to miss!
After Work Activities
Lisbon is a lively city, with so much to do! One of the most popular activities is eating, since the Portuguese cuisine is delicious and super affordable! Make sure you try the traditional cod fish dishes “bacalhau”, the huge variety of seafood and the famous custard tarts, “pastéis de nata”. Relax at the end of the day, on one of the many rooftop terraces in Lisbon, Portuguese style! Take a surfing class, enjoy a relaxing day at the beach, take advantage of the often free music events happening around the city, or dance the night away in the lively nightlife, the possibilities are endless!
Weekend Trip to Porto
Porto, the second biggest city, in the north of Portugal, is known for its colorful buildings and charming atmosphere. (And even more delicious food…) This beautiful medieval city, is a place that seems to have stopped in time. With a beautiful river that flows across the city, the super friendly locals, combined with an overall young vibe which is perfect for students, you will definitely have a blast! In our program you will have the chance to explore this city, its beautiful landmarks and try the local cuisine. And if you are a Harry Potter fan, make sure you don’t miss a visit to the famous bookstore “Lello”, since it was where the author got the inspiration to create Hogwarts!
Unsponsored Events
We want to help you build friendships and get to know your new city. Our Absolute Internship staff will be planning unsponsored events for the entire group every week. These events are voluntary, but we recommend that you attend them. Our Lisbon events will help familiarise you with the city, culture, and your fellow interns!
