21 Jun I am ready to explore the city of Shanghai
Greetings! I am Janeeka Raymond and currently a senior at the University of Central Florida (UCF) located in Orlando, Florida about 30 minute drive from Disney World. I will be receiving my Bachelors of Science in Finance this December 2014.
I am originally from Palm Beach, which is about 2 and a half hours south of Orlando. During my years at UCF, I have been an active member of John T. Washington Honor Society, Volunteer UCF, LEAD Scholars, and LEGACY Leadership and Mentoring program to name a few. I am very active in volunteering and giving back to the local community in any way I can, but my favorite service activity would have to been mentoring and tutoring “at-risk” students. I also enjoy dancing any chance I get and have recently been trying to become a Zumba instructor which is pretty much dance cardio workout. Before I arrive, my expectations of Shanghai is to be a fast pace city life as well as have some rural areas that have been kept even through construction. I have actually not done too much research on the city just because I wanted to be surprised and amazed on the places to see. I am truly excited about my internship with a non-profit organization that collects used/new books to donate to schools and orphanages all over China. I was happy to hear the description of my internship because I have always thought of working for a non-profit and this summer I actually get to see how exactly they operate. I am also looking forward to what Absolute Internship has in store for us. I know many weekend trips are planned for us and I am ready to explore the city of Shanghai and see everything it has to offer.
