14 Jul Catherine Brown – Marketing Internship in Shanghai
My name is Catherine Brown and I attend Iowa State University but I was born and raised all over Texas. I’m studying Marketing, will be a junior this next year, and am pretty involved all over my campus giving campus tours, joining different clubs associated with my classes as well as school organizations, and got involved in our schools largest student run philanthropy. I work with the largest student run philanthropy at Iowa State and help raise money for a children’s hospital in Iowa. I’m also a tour guide and absolutely love the history and fun facts about my school. One of my favorite things to do while at college is go to our sporting events and cheer on our student athletes. I’ve had my fair share of TV time from waiting 12 hours to get a good seat for basketball games so you could say I’m a little bit obsessed.
I think I have mixed expectations about going to Shanghai because this will be the first time I will be travelling international and going somewhere without my family or a big group of friends. I know the culture will be extremely eye opening and really educational which excites me. I will be a Business Development Intern over in Shanghai and I’m thrilled to get to see how multiple fields of business work on an international level. I also am excited to see the different parts of China around Shanghai and going on weekend excursions while hanging out with people from all over the world who have come together through Absolute Internship.
Needless to say this will be a trip to speak of for years to come and I can’t wait to see what Shanghai teaches me and shows me!!
