Events in Madrid

The Madrid Internship Program provides exciting weekend events in order for you to make the most out of your time living in Spain. Although you will be working during the day, these events aim to give you full advantage of what the city has to offer. Even though your internship is the most important, it’s essential that you take advantage of living abroad.

Guided Tour of the City

Let’s get to know your new city – Madrid, by passing by the amazing landmarks that this city has to offer! Madrid is definitely one of the most cultural cities in the world so make sure to bring your camera, as we’ll introduce you this historical city. This is truly a great opportunity to check out the fantastic must-sees and spend some with the other Absolute students!

Toledo

70km south of Madrid is the “Imperial City” of Toledo. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its extensive cultural and monumental heritage and historical co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures.

Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía

The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía is Spain’s national museum of 20th-century art. There you can contemplate masterpieces from Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí or Joan Miró. It is home to the famous Guernica.

Flamenco Show

Flamenco is a genre of music and dance native to the southern Spanish regions. It is a fusion of the various cultures that have coexisted in southern Spain (mainly Andalusians, Muslims,Gypsies and Jews). On November 16, 2010 UNESCO declared flamenco one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
