The Singapore Internship Program provides exciting weekend events in order for you to make the most out of your time living in Singapore. Although you will be working during the day, these events aim to give you full advantage of what the city has to offer. Even though your internship is the most important, it’s essential that you take advantage of living abroad. The events below are just a few examples of previous activities.
Events in Singapore
Singapore City Tour
Take a city tour of Singapore and observe the rich cultural and historical heritage through the sights and sounds of the bustling ethnic enclaves. Along the streets of China Town, Kampong Glam and Little India, religious monuments nestle amidst quaint shop houses. Contrasting with the modern shopping malls, there are serene gardens and sleek skyscrapers. It’s a perfect mix of styles, and you will have the chance to see it all up close!
Day Trips
While in the program, you will have the chance to explore other cities nearby, hop on islands that look like they came straight out of a postcard, visit beautiful temples and enjoy breathtaking views, where the lands meets the ocean. In the past, students have traveled to places such the beautiful Bintan Island in Indonesia, had a blast at the Universal Studios in Sentosa Island, and explored the impressive temples in Malaysia.
Cultural Visits
As part of the program you will have the chance to immerse yourself in the diverse Singaporean culture and explore the beauty and landmarks of this country. Singapore has an amazing contrast between traditional and modern, that you will be able to experience in first hand. Considered as the Asian capital for technology, you will see up close the innovation and groundbreaking projects implemented in this region of the world. Unsponsored Events
We want to help you build friendships and get acquainted with your new city. To help you, our Absolute staff will be planning unsponsored events for the entire group every week. These events are voluntary, but we recommend that you attend these as they will make sure that you will get to know your new city and the other interns on the program.
Networking
Networking is about making connections and building enduring, mutually beneficial relationships. To succeed you must continually connect with new people, cultivate emerging relationships and leverage your network. For this reason, we encourage that all of our interns to take advantage of the numerous networking opportunities going on in their new city in order to help build their network far beyond their home country.
