17 Aug Ready for journey of my life – Shanghai
Excited, motivated, apprehensive and ready. These words summarise the emotions that I am feeling as I embark on my journey to Shanghai, with the expectation to bring back an abundance of new experiences, new challenges and unforgettable memories. The prospect of travelling to Shanghai to work for one month is a daunting one and my ambition is to take away lessons and experiences that will stand me in good stead as a fresh, young business graduate.
My name is Frederica Prescott and I am from England. I am a recent Business Management Graduate, having studied for four years at the Bristol Business School at the University of The West of England. Undertaking a placement year at an international company was where my interest in international business arose, having worked with various suppliers all over the world. I am tenacious and ambitious and I hope that my experience working in Shanghai with Absolute Internship will be the perfect opportunity to enhance by CV and give me the platform to launch my career.
I have always been interested in travel and having visited countries all over the world, China has always been on my bucket list as a must to explore. I cannot think of a better way to incorporate this passion, with the intention of gaining invaluable experience in the workplace in a fast moving economy. Twinned with this interest, one of my favourite aspects of travelling is trying new food, and I am eager to experience the Chinese cuisine first hand.
Expectations
Shanghai
I am excited about travelling to a new country to embrace this fantastic opportunity to emerge myself within a new culture for a month. I am expecting the journey to be a rollercoaster ride, which doesn’t end until my final day of my internship. I hope to experience everything I can in one month by making the most of my time… early starts and late nights lie ahead in order to achieve this!
Internship
I am motivated to make a good impression, to learn new things and to excel in my role on my internship, whilst feeling apprehensive about the challenges that lie ahead. I am looking forward to working within a new culture and working with new people and I am eager to use my skills learnt in my degree and apply them to my new role in Business Development.
Absolute Internship
I am looking forward to being a part of a community of interns within the Absolute Internship Group, to gain new experiences and take part in activities with new people from all parts of the globe.
I am ready for the journey to begin and I look forward to writing my second blog on my first days in Shanghai.
