We condemn all the racist incidents targeting the AAPI community, and above all we stand up against hate.

We stand for inclusion; we embrace diversity and we promise to never turn our backs on racism.

Unlike Covid-19, the pandemic of racism is not new in America or in the rest of the world. As an organisation, Absolute Internship stands united against acts of racism and violence. We stand for inclusion; we embrace diversity and we promise to never turn a blind eye to racism.

Are remote internships good? You might be wondering yourself. Or is remote internships legit? People have been working remotely for years, so it’s not a brand new concept for employers around the world and definitely very legit. Now it’s easier than ever to both work and intern remotely due to the technology that we have available. Most of the host companies of Absolute Internship in China and Hong Kong were forced to change their infrastructure to remote-based due to the strict regulations in the country at the beginning of the year. Thanks to tools such as Slack and WeChat companies were still able to keep in touch with their team members and interns.

What to do when recruitment is on hold

As nations tackle the COVID-19 epidemic, a rapidly increasing number of employees across the world are working remotely as part of the efforts to mitigate the spread of the pandemic. Countries worldwide have enforced a full or partial lockdown and major firms have put recruitment on hold. Nonetheless, students and recent graduates can still show employers that they are willing to gain professional experience and a pandemic will not hold them back.

I always tell students how incredible and brave they all are by getting out of their comfort zones and making the important decision of going abroad for their summer internship. Fun? They will have loads of it, but they should keep in mind the main reason they are here is to show their talent as professionals and to improve their skills, in order to develop their future careers. In fact, if we analyze carefully, the same applies to Absolute Internship Program Coordinators - in my case, at the London Summer Program.
