When joining the London program, if you do not own a UK passport, you must obtain a Tier 5 visa allowing you to undertake an internship in London for a limited period of time. This visa will allow you to exit and re-enter the United Kingdom as often as you want during the determined period of time matching the visa length. Doing an internship in London without a UK passport, or a Tier 4 visa is illegal and is punished with a high fine and/or potential imprisonment.
Upon enrollment into the program, you will receive a list of steps and documents needed for you to process your visa. As the visa process may take up to 8 weeks we will ask you to gather the information in a timely manner.
If you hold a United States passport / if you study in the United States
- You will process your visa sponsorship and its fee. The visa fee is not included in the program.
- You will be required to provide documents including bank statements, insurance, and student status proof.
- Upon enrollment into the program, you will receive a list of documents needed for you to process your visa. The visa processing time will take up to 8 weeks.
If you hold a passport from Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand Hong Kong, Republic of Korea or Taiwan
- You will apply for a Youth Mobility Scheme Tier 5 visa (https://www.gov.uk/tier-5-youth-mobility) allowing you to intern and work in the United Kingdom for up to 24 months.
- You will be required to provide your bank statements with proof of sufficient funds.
- If you own a passport from Hong Kong or Republic of Korea, you must get a sponsorship in your respective country.
If you hold another passport but you study in Australia, Canada or New Zealand
- You will process your visa sponsorship and its fee.
- You will be required to provide documents including bank statements, insurance and student status proof.
- Upon enrollment into the program you will receive a list of documents needed for us to process your visa. The visa processing time will take up to 8 weeks.
If you hold another passport
- You will process your visa sponsorship and its fee.
- You will be required to provide documents including bank statements, insurance, English proficiency proof, and student status proof.

If you currently study in the UK and hold a Tier 4 Visa (student visa)
- You will process your visa sponsorship and its fee. Absolute Internship will convert your Tier 4 Visa into a Tier 5 Visa and you won’t need to exit the UK.
- You will be required to provide documents including bank statements, insurance, and student status proof.
- Upon enrollment into the program, you will receive a list of documents needed for us to process your visa. The visa processing time will take up to 6 weeks.
